I realized as I laid down in bed last night that I hadn't posted anything. Oh well... Four days in a row is a start.

Today is fathers' day. We started celebrating by going over to Kara's father's house last night and helping to cook him dinner. Kara's brother Karl and his girlfriend Michelle brought over Thai food and they all went to town making dinner. I helped with dessert. For lunch today we tock out Kara's step father and tonight we're having my parents and brother over for barbecue.

I got the new Stanley Kubrick Collection on DVD yesterday. It includes Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, and Stanley Kubrick A Life in Pictures. The new addition has new transfers of most of the films and now includes Eyes Wide Shut and the new A life in Pictures documentary , only available in this set. The Video and sound are much better then the original release. The old version of The Shining would have looked bad for VHS, much less a DVD. Just watching the first few minutes I could tell the improvement was like night and day. One of the sections in my upcoming hobby area will be movies and I'll put up my full thoughts there. So far I've only had time to watch Dr. Strangelove and Full Metal Jacket.

Needless to say I haven't had a lot of time to play with Nero yet. I did try to find some mpeg's to try making a video CD. Unfortunately, most of the files I could find on the net were Quicktime and AVI's. I'll keep at it.

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. I do have a reason though, not an excuse. Monday afternoon I felt a sore throat coming on. I should have gone home early; instead I ended up working late. By the time I got home I was felling faint, so I went straight to bed. I won't bore you with the details, suffice it to say I am back at work and felling better (although not quite well).
