| Saturday WednesdayI'm sick. Actually, I'm getting better. I made it in to work today. Sorry for the lack of posts. Last Thursday I was busy getting ready to leave and leaving on a short vacation and I didn't feel I had time to post that. I didn't get back until late Sunday night. Over the course of the trip I started feeling worse, lost my voice and developed a bad cough. Monday and Tuesday I was in bed coughing and generally felling rotten. Today I'm better. The trip was fun. My fiancé had a family reunion in a state park outside of Omaha, Nebraska. Around forty of the clan made it and all seemed to have a good time. I even picked up a few names, although, I don't know if I'll remember them in three years at the next reunion. I'll have more tomorrow when, hopefully, I'll feel better. Sunday | Monday

| Saturday ThursdayNews just in on the Microsoft case. The appeals court has apparently agreed with the lower court that Microsoft is a monopoly and illegally used its monopolistic power in anti-competitive ways. Specifically, forcing OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers), like Dell or Gateway, to not offer competitors software. However, it objected to the lower courts remedy, which was to split the company in two, dividing Operating systems from applications. It said the lower court judge had not followed proper procedure in the remedy phase of the trial and assigned a new judge to come up with a proper remedy. It looks like the appeals court left the door open for the new judge to come up with whatever remedy they see fit, assuming they follow the proper procedure, including splitting the company up in some way. Whether the prosecution will still push for a split with a new more conservative and pro-business administration in place, remains to be seen. It may be the government is now more willing to settle with Microsoft. What will be done...? What should be done...? I'll let you know soon. Sunday | Monday
